Teen Arrested in Murder of Salem High School Student at Newton County Park Shooting During Senior Skip Day
A second teenage suspect has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of Justin Etienne, an 18-year-old Salem High School student, during a gathering at Denny Dobbs Park in Newton County on March 19. The 17-year-old suspect, a Rockdale High School student, faces multiple charges including murder and aggravated assault, while a 16-year-old from Newton High School was arrested earlier on similar charges. The Newton County Sheriff’s Office stated that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident, and both suspects are currently held in the Newton jail.
