A gruesome and chilling murder that took place in Atlanta in 2007 has finally reached a breakthrough, as Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis announced the arrest of Angel Marie Thompson for the murder of her girlfriend Nicole Alston. The case, known as a cold case due to its long-standing unsolved status, has now been overturned with new DNA testing and evidence.

According to officials, 24-year-old Alston’s dismembered body was found in Troup County, and investigators have reason to believe that she was killed in the shared apartment with her partner, Thompson. However, the case was left cold for years, with no leads or suspects. That is until a recent breakthrough led to the arrest of Thompson.

Thompson, now 41, has been charged with murder and identity theft, with the latter being used to collect almost $140,000 in government benefits, as well as engage in multiple fraudulent activities. This revelation has sparked outrage and horror as the true depth of this gruesome and heinous crime come to light.

As the case unfolds, it is expected that Thompson will also face charges of human trafficking, further adding to the horror of this already chilling story. For now, Thompson is being held without bond at the Fulton County Jail, with her indictment expected to contain multiple charges related to the murder of Nicole Alston and years of fraudulent and abusive activities.
